Human nature

Who decided what is gross,  vulgar,  grotesque, unmoral, etc.
My kids were listening to the library lady read a book and she talks about a woodpecker. She says that woodpeckers peck wood because they are trying to get the worms out to eat them. I find that absolutely terrifying. Poor worms, they have no hope. My kids obviously were not phased, but still. Just take a minute, put yourself in the worms shoes...I guess it would be the same thing if dinosaurs were still around. We would have to accept that death is a part of life. My god! What a thought.
